About Nevada County Criminal History

Nevada County criminal records are divided among the sheriff, the Superior Court, California DOJ, the state corrections system, and the California Megan's Law Website. We created this private reference resource to make the correct official portal, address, or phone number easier to identify without treating those separate records as one database.

Why We Built This Site

California record access depends on both the record and its custodian. Nevada County Sheriff's Office maintains bookings, jail information, and active warrants. The Superior Court of California, County of Nevada keeps filed charges and dispositions. California DOJ controls the fingerprint-based state repository, while CDCR and the California Megan's Law Website serve different corrections and registry purposes. We organize the official request steps, contacts, fees, and portals for those offices in one place.

What You Will Find Here

  • Agency contacts: Nevada County sheriff, court, and California system contact routes
  • Record guides: ways to search and understand criminal court case records
  • Official self-review: the fingerprint process for requesting your own California DOJ summary history
  • Record relief: where California expungement, sealing, and related requests begin

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately operated reference site, with no affiliation to a California court, sheriff, police department, or government agency. Its limits include:

  • We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
  • We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
  • We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
  • We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
  • We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now

An official record must come from its custodian, such as Nevada County Sheriff, Nevada Superior Court, or California DOJ. We can identify that office, but cannot issue or certify its documents.

Search Partners

Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this site free for visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results.
