Contact Us

This page separates what this private resource can address from requests that must go to an official Nevada County or California office. The contacts below route each common record type to the government custodian that can search, release, or certify it.

This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.

Need an Official Record?

Use the Nevada County or state office that holds the requested record:

  • Court case files: see criminal court case records, or contact the clerk of the court that heard the case
  • Arrest, booking, and jail records: Nevada County Sheriff's Records Division or Corrections Division
  • Criminal cases and dispositions: Superior Court of California, County of Nevada
  • Your own statewide summary history: California DOJ fingerprint record review
  • Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
  • Expungement and record sealing: file with the court that heard the case

For sheriff-held records, contact the Nevada County Sheriff's Records Division, 950 Maidu Avenue, Suite 280, Nevada City, CA 95959, 530-265-1471. Public-facing hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays. Crime reports, coroner reports, and California Public Records Act requests use the sheriff's GovQA portal.

For filed criminal cases and dispositions, use the Superior Court of California, County of Nevada at nevada.courts.ca.gov. Start with its public portal; documents not available online can be requested through the court's Case Records & Requests process or viewed at courthouse kiosks. Payment in advance may be required for copies.
